Deschutes County needs another hospital!

By the time the General Election comes in November, Tony DeBone will have served as Commissioner for 12 years. He's made more than $1,000,000 in salary since that time. Ask him, "What have you done Tony?" His answer is appalling.

As County Commissioner, I pledge to market our County to another hospital system. There are many things we can do to accommodate them here in the County. Here's a list of a few;

  1. Since many County employees now work remote from their homes, County buildings have more space available for other options. One such option is to move existing employees into other buildings so as to consolidate space. The vacant building can be leased or sold to a hospital system. Our first goal is to get more mental health bed space. We could court the new hospital to bring mental health professionals first to address this issue and then work on bringing the full hospital services next.
  2. We can sell land to the hospital system at a discounted rate to make it more attractive to their move.
  3. We can also arrange the lease/purchase agreement to structure a favorable tax rate for them.

It's time for change. Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over. I believe this applies to politicians.
